Rental Terms

The drivers must be at least 23 years of age, while for cars of categories E1, E2, E3, F, F1, P, P2, G1, G2, G3, Q, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9, N, N1 and N2 should be at least 25.

For cars in Group J10 the drivers must be at least 35 years of age.

Drivers must present a valid license issued at least 12 months to the rental. Additionally, the driver's license must be an international one or translated in English. In any different case, you should contact our reservation department.

Original documents (Driver’s license & ID/ Passport) for each driver must be provided to our representatives for verification.

Kindly note that if the driver’s license is missing upon car pick up, the company has the right to cancel your booking and the deposit is not refundable.

Tickets and administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic laws during rental period, is solely the renter’s responsibility. If any such administrative sanction is not disclosed to the company at the end of the rental period (contract), the violation will be charged to the renter.

Collision damage waiver with ZERO EXCESS (CDW)

The renter is insured for the rental vehicle damaged by accident with no obligation to pay any excess.

Penalties may apply for accidents caused by extreme negligence without the involvement of another person and/or vehicle.

Theft Protection with ZERO EXCESS (TP)

The renter is insured in case the vehicle is stolen, except if theft occurs because of negligence. Any stolen belongings in the interior of the car (eg. cameras, travel bags or cell-phones) are not covered by any insurance.

Public Liability Insurance (PL)

The renter’s liability is covered to a maximum of €1.300.000 for death and bodily injuries and €1.300.000 for material damages. May also referred as PLI.

Wheels and Tyres Insurance

Is an extra optional insurance and covers damage to the wheels/tyres and the underside of the car. The driver must drive the vehicle only in roads suitable for the selected car. This means NO Off-road driving, only on asphalt roads!

Categories A, C, K, L, O, O1 are charged with € 6 per day.

Categories M, D, D1,M1,E, E1, E2, E3, F, F1, P, P2, G1, G2, G3, Q, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9,J10, N, N1, N2 and PROF. are charged with € 10 per day.

The vehicle must not be operated on any unauthorized roads (non-asphalt roads, off-road (ie. Balos).

The driver must not be in violation of the Greek Traffic Law (i.e road signs, speed limitation or road direction).

All insurance coverings & waivers are valid provided that the renter has complied with all the terms & conditions below.

The rented car must not be used for:

Transportation of passengers, objects for fare.

Towing away or hauling other vehicles or objects

Staging of car races generally.

Rent or lent to third parties.

Transportation of heavy luggage above the load limit.

Transportation of inflammable, contaminating or odorous materials or drugs and as a mean to act against customs regulations, traffic rules or other legal provisions.

In the unfortunate event of an accident Best Cars Rental must be informed immediately.

The damaged car will be replaced within 24 hours from the time the breakdown has been reported.

The Eco Groups under the economy section of our website consist of slightly older models, excellently maintained by our own mechanics.

All Groups under the premium section consist of the latest models available.

Best Cars Rental books vehicles by group and serve based onavailability. Therefore, is not possible to reserve a specific car model. Each group of cars includes several models with similar features.

Our company reserves the right to deliver a vehicle from a larger category with no extra charge, in case of overbooking.

Th renter pays for any fuel used during the rental.

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as delivered.

If the customer returns the car with less fuel in the tank than the initial amount, charges will apply.

There will be no refund for unused fuel.

The driver is responsible for all costs regarding lost or damaged keys, plus the cost of retrieving a key locked inside the vehicle.

Ferrying the car to and from any island or mainland is not allowed.

After the availability confirmation the client is obliged to make a deposit of 10% of the agreed price in advance. All car delivery information (i.e. Flight details, Hotel name etc has to be provided to our reservation department in order to receive the confirmation document for the reservation and all necessary information regarding the car pick up.

Our representative will be waiting for you by the exit of the arrival terminal in the Airport / Port holding up a sign with your name on it. He will be watching your flight or ferry, and will be aware of any delayed or early arrivals, so they can welcome you to our wonderful island! The process of delivering the car is swift and easy, and in no more than 15 minutes you will be ready to explore Crete.

The renter can cancel the reservation with no charge up to 7 days prior to the shceduled pick up date. For later cancelations the deposit amount is non-refundable.

After the contract has been signed, the rental amount for any unused days is non-refundable.
